PI2010 – Active HDMI 18Gbps Cable: 4K60 Signal Transmission for Professional AV Installations
The PI2010 active HDMI cable utilises a high-speed signal path optimised for 18Gbps data rates, supporting uncompressed 4K UltraHD video at 60Hz across a 5.00m length. Its construction features high-purity copper conductors, triple-layer shielding, and gold-plated precision contacts, ensuring low-loss transmission and robust mechanical durability. The integrated PureLink SLS (Secure-Lock-System) minimises accidental disconnections in fixed AV deployments, while the display-side APO (Active Performance Optimizer) circuit maintains signal integrity over extended distances. This cable is suitable for control rooms, meeting spaces, and signage environments requiring reliable 4K connectivity.
4K60 HDMI 2.0 Signal Support: The cable supports HDMI 2.0 bandwidths up to 18Gbps, accommodating video resolutions up to 4K UltraHD at 60Hz. Backwards compatibility with HDMI 1.4 at 10.2Gbps ensures interoperability with legacy sources and displays in mixed AV systems.
Secure-Lock-System Contacts: Gold-plated precision contacts incorporate the PureLink SLS mechanism, which provides a mechanically secure connection. This reduces the risk of accidental unplugging in rack-mounted, podium, or wall-plate installations.
Active Performance Optimisation: The display-side connector integrates PureLink APO, an active circuit that compensates for signal attenuation across the 5.00m cable length. This ensures stable, high-quality transmission for demanding AV applications.
High-Purity Conductors and Shielding: Utilising oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors and triple shielding, the cable minimises electromagnetic interference and maintains signal clarity. The design supports conductor sizes from AWG24 to AWG32, balancing flexibility with mechanical resilience.
Status LED and MicroUSB Power: An integrated status LED provides visual confirmation of signal integrity, while a microUSB port enables optional 5V external power supply. This feature supports stable operation in installations with marginal source power or extended cable runs.

The PI2010 serves as a technically robust solution for transmitting 4K60 HDMI signals across longer distances in professional AV installations. By combining active signal optimisation, secure locking contacts, and comprehensive shielding, this cable supports stable operation in meeting rooms, control centres, and digital signage setups where signal reliability and mechanical security are essential.
The Latest Generation
The PI2010 PureInstall HDMI cables comply with the HDMI standard - HDMI High Speed with Ethernet. They support bandwidths up to 18Gbps for resolutions up to 4K@60Hz with 8bit colors as well as 4:4:4 subsampling up to a length of 20m (10.2Gbps for max. 4K@30Hz at 25m & 30m) and are backwards compatible to all older HDMI specifications. The display of HDR content (High-Dynamic-Range) is also possible without problems.
"Special Features" of PI2010
The active cables feature an exclusive EQ chipset using a sophisticated signal processing, directly powered via HDMI. If the power input of the HDMI source device is not sufficient, which is often the case with laptops or graphics cards, a 5V power source can be easily connected via microUSB. The cable uses a subtle blue LED to indicate an active connection.
PI2010 cables have achieved a bit error rate of 0 (zero) in tests with a Quantum Data 780D, last but not least due to the excellent interference-reducing EMI shielding.
In terms of installation quality, the PI2010 cable does not need to hide behind other PureInstall cables: The cable is UL CL2 approved and therefore perfectly suited for in-wall installation. It also features strong, interlocking metal shells inside that can withstand high tensile forces.
Note: The test specifications for active HDMI cables have not been published yet. When they are, these cables will be among the first to receive certification.
